Organization of fundraisers - how can you organize a fundraiser in your organization? 

To meet the increasing demands of the health system in Israel, 1200 blood units are needed every day.
Human blood is irreplaceable, therefore only a blood donation from one person can save other people's lives.
In order to obtain such a quantity of volunteer blood donors, MDA's blood services hold blood donation campaigns in various sectors such as: factories, companies, working settlements, IDF bases, colleges, malls, etc.

What is needed to organize a fundraiser at your organization? 

  1. At least 60 potential donors who expressed willingness to come and donate on the specified date.
  2. Make sure the fundraising room is large enough to accommodate the donors who will arrive. Make sure that the room has enough space for 4-5 donation beds, about 12 waiting chairs, electric sockets, five tables designed for: recording and measuring blood pressure and hemoglobin, for filling out a donor questionnaire, for questioning, for concentrating the blood portions and for placing refreshments and drinks.
  3. Make sure that the fundraising location should be near a protected area.
  4. A parking space must be provided for a car that is 2.90 meters high and 3 meters long.
  5. Soft drinks, light refreshments for blood donors (cookies, etc.).

    Also, there are other things that can be done in order to promote the issue of blood donations in your organization, in a variety of ways, for example: 

    1. Sending a newsletter or a message to all employees/volunteers about the importance of blood donations, with a call to come donate in their free time, near the house. For the full list of fundraising points.

    3. Distributing a link to the local WhatsApp group of a blood donor organization to keep up to date on the blood donations happening in your city. For the full list of groups.
    4. Ordering a lecture on the importance of donating blood to your organization as part of a health week that is celebrated in many organizations. Contact us here.
    5. A monetary donation or benefits equivalent to money related to the organization's field of activity for the benefit of blood donations or to a blood donor organization. To donate click here.  
    6. Come in a concentrated way to donate blood as part of an organizational volunteer day. You can come to donate after/before other activities.
