Ten things that everyone can do right now, to promote the topic of blood donations
*Most of them can be done from the couch, in your free time.
Many of you contact us and ask how they can help more, or how they can help right now, if they are unable to donate blood for medical and other reasons.
So we have put together a list of ten things that each and every one of you can do to help and promote the cause of blood donations.
Remember that one dose of blood saves the lives of 3 people and even those who cannot physically donate themselves (for example because they donated last week, or for medical reasons, or any other reason) can help a lot in other ways.
- Just come donate blood. For the full list of points click here.
- Talk to the people around you about donating blood. Do they come to donate? If not, try to find out why and help them reduce barriers. For example, lack of awareness of the existence of donations close to them, fear of pain, fear of feeling bad after the donation, etc.
- Find a friend who has not yet donated blood, and include him in the circle of giving. If that friend donates even once a year, you've doubled your contribution to a life-saving effort!
- Distributing a link to the local Westap group of a blood donor organization in the Westap groups of the neighborhood/building/school, in order to be updated on the blood donations taking place in your city. - Joining a blood donor organization. Our request from the members of the organization is only one: a high commitment to donate blood, especially when we turn to you (when there is a shortage of blood, especially your blood type).
